Blue Mound State Park - 4/5/2008

Trail Thaw Snow Hiking West Tower Spring Runoff

Though I'm a fairly regular visitor to Blue Mound State Park, I don't seem to post many photos--mostly because it's one of my "speed/distance" hiking destinations on Monday evenings in the summers. On this particular hike, it was a warm Saturday afternoon, with temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s. After a brutal winter with more than 100 inches of snow, I was ready to hike outdoors regardless of the terrain. I expected mud--but got a fun combination of snow, ice, and mud that made for a relatively slow but very fun hike.
