Pike's Peak 2003

On August 23, 2003, I took a two-hour drive along U.S. 18 to get to Iowa. Why Iowa? It's the home of Pike's Peak State Park, which is across the Mississippi River from Wyalusing State Park in Wisconsin. Located just to the south of McGregor, Pike's Peak is easy to get to. And yes, indeed, it's named for Zebulon Pike, the same person for whom the other Pike's Peak is named.
